Investigator stands by Gatti suicide verdict (AP)

Brazilian investigators had ruled Arturo Gatti's 2009 death a suicide but prosecutors are looking again into his death.  Spokesman Jaques Cerqueira said prosecutor Paula Ismail may ask for the findings by private investigators in the U.S., which indicated Gatti was killed, and could bring murder charges or decide to uphold the original investigation's findings that Gatti killed himself.

The Brazilian police official who oversaw the 2009 investigation into the death of Arturo Gatti said Friday he remains convinced the boxing champion killed himself. However, Paulo Alberes said that if asked by prosecutors, he would re-examine the case and take into account the findings of private investigators in the U.S.
